Acceptance Letter Update

Hi everyone,

Here's a general update of what I've been doing lately and what I'll be doing this summer.

First off, I just got my acceptance letter to Kansai Gaidai University for the fall semester! Now all I need is a scholarship and I'll be set.

Second, I found a temporary summer job. It's hard work, but it pays. That said, I won't really have time to update this blog. Consider this one of the last posts I make in a while (unless something mind blowing happens).

Third, if you want to stay in touch with me, be sure to add me as a friend on Facebook (Tim Russell). Especially if you are one of my youtube followers, because I added a video on my page which can only been seen by request.

Adobe Photoshop Tutorial:

1. Duplicated the layer.
2. On the new layer, adjusted levels so the contrast is darker.
3. Highlight each deer individually using the quick seleciton tool.
4. Adusted color levels of each selected dear to your desired color.
5. Duplicate the current multi-color deer layer.
6. Desaturated the new layer.
7. Use the eraser tool with soft edges and erase only the deers.
8. Tada! A Skittles inspired deer photo.

Adobe Photoshop Tutorial:

1. Duplicate the layer.
2. On the new layer, adjust the levels so the contrast stands out more.
3. Use the marquee tool to select and crop the image so it's pulled in closer.
4. Select the blur tool and carefully blur out the background so the image will show depth.
5. Select the text tool and name the image.
6. Tada! Much better.

ABC Family Got Me Good

Oh ABC Family, you joker you! I'll just come right out and admit it -- you got me.

Seriously, for a second there, I really did think that was how you were going to end Kyle XY. When I saw that ending, all I wanted to do was kill. Yes, kill. The finale invoked my inner urge to murder.

For the next hour, all I could think of was death, bloody, gory, death. I'm talking blood stains everywhere. It would be like A Clock Work Orange -- but much more disturbing.

But then I thought about it and I said to myself "this must be an early April fools prank." That's all it is. I mean surely ABC Family wouldn't intentionally take a piss on their loyal viewers. Of course not, that's just ridiculous.

Now I feel so stupid. How could I fall for such an easy prank? *sigh* There's no doubt in my mind that an executive from ABC Family will make a formal apology for allowing such an appalling ending. "Just kidding everyone."

ABC Family is a business, they're all about making money. So naturally they wouldn't want to ruin the only show on their channel worth watching. Duh.

Gaming: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

Yes, it's Friday... What happens on Friday besides a new episode of Dollhouse? My gaming column of course.
